blogkomm is a commenting script for weblogs that allows comments to appear within your blog, below the posts.

No database is needed: CSS-styled comments, multilingual User Interface, browser-based setup and configuration plus admin-tool are stored on your own webserver.

Test it out in my (german) blog below, comments in any language are appreciated.

are you unhappy with blogger and you are able to use php/mysql? textpattern could be your choice. today i set up 3 installations at work within 1 hour. really nice piece of software with installer, clean URL-rewriting, multi-user (multi-blog)-ready and including textile, an easy-to-type syntax to create XHTML within your posts.

there is always a lack of functionality in every system. blogkomm 2.0 should be so much better than 1.8 ;)

you mean, if there are several authors in one blog. yep it is easy: just add a line defining the $blog_mail var with comma-separated adresses in the first view lines in blogkomm_show_link.php. thats all ...

nevermind. I fixed that - missing the ";" I have another question, what is the reason for the posting not "remembering" the commenters information?

nevermind - you have to make a file name in the archiving feature of blogger settings. - call it archive.php - and then it will pick up correctly. If it is blank you'll have the file uploaded ie the month like 7_2004_ but nothing else - when you put a file name you'll have 7_2004archive.php

I checked Dustin's site, too, and the form clears when I press [Preview]. For me it does that in both IE6 and Firefox.

I want to email comments to an email address that I do NOT want to get out in public - is there any way for outside forces to see the email in the PHP if it's a protected directory?

Also, is there a way for me to change the "from" address in the email and/or the subject line?

if you take a look in your source or in this one, you will not find any address in the post area. blogkomm takes the blogger.com-author- address while working on your server.

sure you can make your changes in do_comments.php

Thanks Holger. I got the email address changed, now I'll have to look to see about changing the subject line. (I don't have access to any of my files from here at work.) I'm also looking to see what if anything can be done to block the spam commenters. I'm getting lots of those this week.

The physical size of my comments.txt file has doubled in the past 3 days because I'm getting hammered with these stupid long spams. I'm pulling out my hair here. I'll look for your email address.
